Recent Project Examples

In addition to dozens of smaller projects we work on every month, Beracha's software development teams are working on some very exciting custom web applications. Let's include the good, the bad and the ugly to quote an old Clint Eastwood movie title.

First, the Good...

#1     Non-profit radio broadcasting "Share-a-Thon" and donor management system

Utilizing Blackbaud's eTapestry Donor Management / CRM system in conjunction with Beracha's Omniweb content management system (CMS) and our nSpire Social Donations and Donor Portal; Beracha is building a best-of-breed internet and extranet application needed by over 3,000 non-profit broadcasters for their total fund-raising and donor experience. It is a unique application specific to the needs all similar organizations have in common. Partnering together with WCSG Radio, Beracha has invested in excess of $750,000 for development of what will soon be referred to as "nSpire Radio". Over two years in planning and development, the first use of this custom software (V1.0) successfully managed the fall Share-a-Thon for WCSG and raised approximately $475,000 which was approximately 6% more than their goal.

The focus of nSpire Radio will be to improve efficiencies, eliminate manual labor that is traditionally fraught with frustration, keying errors and countless overtime of both paid and volunteer staff. The return on investment (ROI) is targeted for 100% in the first year of use by all non-profit stations. It will be made available as Software-as-a-Service to all to eliminate the need for capital expense. The overall objective for this custom programming project will be to provide financial sustainability in the form of new revenue streams for every non-profit broadcasting organization which uses it.

#2     Non-profit rescue mission management / donor management system

Utilizing Blackbaud's eTapestry Donor Management / CRM system in conjunction with Beracha's Omniweb content management system (CMS) and our nSpire Social Donations and Donor Portal; Beracha is building a best-of-breed internet and extranet application needed by approximately 1,000 non-profit rescue missions for their total client management, fund-raising and donor experience. It is a unique application specific to the needs all similar organizations have in common. Partnering together with Kansas City Rescue Mission, Beracha is investing between $1,000,000.00 and $1,500,000.00 for development. No official name of this end product has been agreed upon yet. The first stages of planning and development are in process. It is built upon an overlay of incredible experience, existing processes and discovery provided by Joe Colaizzi, Executive Director of the Kansas City Rescue Mission, who created the initial system of this custom software (V1.0). Several other missions have utilizied the system in its current form already.

The focus of Beracha will be to make this solution standardized on a platform which can be scalable, easily supported, and enhanced with updated technology solutions, reporting, business intelligence, analytics, compliance and security features, as well as, affordability for up to five levels of missions ranging from small to extra-large in size and complexity. Improved efficiencies, the elimination of manual labor will make this highly valuable and will provide a level of sustainability for Kansas City Rescue Mission in addition to rescue missions throughout the US. The return on investment (ROI) is targeted for 100% in the first year of use. It will be made available as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) to other non-profit missions. The overall objective for this custom programming project will be to productize the excellence KCRM brings to the table so it can be utilized as a best practice for all rescue missions. It is being built with an emphasis on providing financial sustainability in the form of new revenue streams for every non-profit mission organization which uses it.

Next, the Bad...

#3     Non-profit Olympic swim club / swim team management system

Note: What's bad about this?  The only thing bad about this is an unforeseeable timing delay due to the 2016 Olympics and resulting demand of our Client's leadership focus. Please review what we are doing below and know we will continue to do this special programming project after the brief pause... Join Beracha as we chant "USA - USA - USA" this summer in Brazil!!!

Utilizing Blackbaud's eTapestry Donor Management / CRM system in conjunction with Beracha's Omniweb content management system (CMS) and our nSpire social donations and donor portal; Beracha is building a best-of-breed internet and extranet application needed by approximately 2,500 non-profit Olympic swim clubs for their total swim management, family, team, fund-raising and donor experience. It is a unique application specific to the needs all similar organizations have in common. Partnering together, with SwimMAC Carolina, Beracha is investing between $2,000,000.00 and $3,000,000.00 for development. No official name of this end product has been agreed upon yet. The first stages of planning and development are in process. It is built upon an overlay of incredible experience, existing processes and discovery provided by Olympic swim coaches and entrepreneurial leadership.

The focus of Beracha will be to make this solution standardized on a platform which can be scalable, easily supported, and enhanced with updated technology solutions, reporting, business intelligence, analytics, compliance and security features, as well as, affordability for up to three levels of Olympic swim clubs ranging from small to extra large in size. Improved efficiencies, the elimination of manual labor will make this highly valuable and will provide a level of sustainability not currently available. The return on investment (ROI) is targeted for 300% in the first year of use. It will be made available as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) to other non-profit swim clubs. The overall objective for this custom programming project will be to provide financial sustainability in the form of new revenue streams for every non-profit swim club in the US that uses it. For some swim clubs, their software subscriptions will be reduced from about $100,000 annually down to as little as $25,000 annually.

Now, the Ugly...

#4     Faith-based missionary agency

Note: What's ugly about this?  The only thing ugly about this was the fact Beracha consultants found illegal bookkeeping, many instances of fraud, forgery and other illegal practices of this mission agency as we were helping them. We found they had cheated their own missionaries out of approximately $2,600,000.00. We knew what we had to do. We sought whistle-blower protection and we brought the matter to the attention of the leadership. They decided to shoot the messengers (us) by filing suit against us.

After spending $800,000 in for our defense, Beracha and our executive team ended up winning the lawsuit because the President of the missionary agency admitted on the witness stand that he had indeed lied and the accusations against us were fictitious. Furthermore, today we have signed affidavits from former key board leaders of the now defunct organization stating we had absolutely no fault in this and that we were indeed trying to help them in the midst of these findings. Beracha was actually their largest single donor. We have 30,000+ pages of documentation proving our honesty and integrity and the facts as they were found to be. Unfortunately, the press stopped following the case once it was thrown out of court. Beracha is inclined to make more details available upon request, including making available the affidavits and courtroom transcripts which are all public record. It's unfortunate the press runs with the axiom "if it bleeds, it leads". They truly are all about sales at any cost.

Now, on to the work we are proud of and how other similar groups are currently using the same technology:

Utilizing Blackbaud's eTapestry Donor Management / CRM system in conjunction with Beracha's Omniweb content management system (CMS) and Omniweb Mission-Match, Beracha built three versions of a best-of-breed internet and extranet application that also handles donations and fee payment while helping mission agencies manage their work globally. It is a unique application specific to the needs all similar organizations have in common. Omniweb Mission-Match V3.0 is provided as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). It provides ultimate workflow and process flexibility, custom graphic design and will economically manage every part of the missional operational experience. It is a Social interaction system when desired, as well as, a private and secure management tool as needed. Today's latest version is mobile responsive for every device, highly secured and ready to implement in as little as six weeks. It comes with or without a Donor Management / CRM system and it can be seamlessly integrated with any other robust Donor Management / CRM system an organization may already have.
